1973: moved from London to Lengerich in Westfalia/Germany

1978: awarded 1st prize at „Jugend Jazzt“ (Youth Jazz Competition)

from 1978 -1984 member of the Youth Jazz Orchestra Northrhine-Westfalia

1981-1986: member of „EuroJazz" (European Community Big Band)

1982: passed A-levels at Gymnasium in Lengerich

1982 - 1984: studied jazz trumpet at Cologne Conservatory with Manfred Schoof & Jiggs Whigham a.o.

since 01.01.1985 solo trumpeter with the Big Band of the SDR in Stuttgart (South German Broadcasting Corporation)

since 1985: teaching at Stuttgart conservatory

1989: marriage with Karin (Suhre)

from 01.01.1992 to 31.12.2011 managing partner of the SWR (South-West German Broadcasting Corporation) Big Band - née SDR Big Band - together with Rudolf Reindl

one Grammy award 2023 and seven Grammy nominations with the SWR Big Band: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2010 & 2023

since 1993 musical director of the Bow-Tie Big Band
